Join us on Tuesday, August 20th, at 6:15 AM outside the Chateau Lacombe Hotel for a casual run guided by Robert Chauvet from the University of Calgary. This event is for runners of all fitness levels and provides a great opportunity to connect with fellow attendees and gear up for a day full of exciting academic sessions. Whether you're an avid runner or just looking to stretch your legs, everyone is welcome. The run will end at the hotel in time for a quick shower and breakfast. Don’t miss out on this great way to start your day and meet members of the Canadian Biomechanics community!

This Women in Biomechanics session, titled ‘Juggling Family and Work’, is a panel discussion held over lunch time. The panel will be made up of professionals at various career and parenting stages. Being a parent comes with challenges that others in different life stages or positions may not experience - but it also comes with joy. We are excited to share our experiences with students, trainees, parents, would-be parents and partners. This session aims to be an honest, realistic, helpful, and positive experience, and we encourage you to come with questions for the panel. All people are welcome.
Consciously Attending to Unconscious Bias

Breakfast Session
All human beings have some kind of bias! What is crucial to focus on, however, is how our biases impact others as well as how they influence our behaviours and decisions. For this session I will explore the various unconscious biases we have, how they manifest themselves in our words and our actions and finally how to reflect on and attend to our biases in order to eliminate them and ensure they do not negatively impact others.
